The Discovered Heroes Value System |
Why Do We Need Heroes?
We all need inspirational heroes as role models for our lives. Many of today's heroes are often sports figures, celebrities, and rock stars whose lives are laced with controversy as well as frequent appearances in our over-crowed court rooms. Where can we find exemplary heroes with proven values demonstrating respect for their fellow humans? How can we learn conflict resolution practices ending in peaceful solutions with dignity and respect being preserved for all? When will we understand and value a work ethic showing the rewards for diligence and quality? How long before forgiveness presides over revenge? This will lead to the acceptance of diversity and help extinguish the embers of discrimination.

- A solution to a problem must not interfere with the larger goal.
- The only time we can ever fail is if we quit.
- Obstacles are opportunities and must be enthusiastically confronted.
- Each day is a battle for control; not for control over others, but for control over how we respond to them.
- Diversity may be the most valued and yet untapped resource in any organization.
- Demeaning others gives them power to rise above you.
- It's not what happens to you that matters; it's how you react to what happens to you that determines your character.
- A true leader serves as a spokesperson for those less able to speak for themselves.
- Learn the heroes' problem-solving and conflict-resolution methods.
- Recognize and overcome your detrimental instinctual behavior.
- Live by a hero's value system guiding you through life and crises situations.
